MUSIC & IDENTITY

Dear participant,

We ask for your assistance in a study that examines how people define their relation to Estonia and whether music contributes to this relationship.
The research is conducted by the Department for Ethnomusicology of the Estonian Literature Museum; the results will be published in scientific journals as well as in the media.

Below you will find a questionnaire that includes statements on a number of topics, whereas two central issues are

"ethnic identity" – feeling of belonging to a group based on a common origin, culture and language; e.g. (ethnic) Estonians, (ethnic) Russians etc.

"national identity" – feeling of belonging to the state of Estonia and the people of Estonia.

It would take about 15-30 min to answer the full questionnaire. To fill in the questionnaire, You can choose between four languages: Estonian, Russian, English, and Swedish. For choosing a specific language click on www.kirmus.ee

Please feel welcome to send your questions and comments to any member of our research team:
